Fantasy in the Court
18:00 – 21:00, Thursday 3rd August, Goldsboro Books, Cecil Court, London
FANTASY IN THE COURT is an annual get-together for all fans, writers, and people interested in the genres of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror and all their glorious sub-categories. It’s the perfect oppotunity to come and chat to your favourite author, have a glass of wine or bottle of beer, and enjoy the completely informal setting. I went last year and I had a blast. Click here for more details about tickets and authors who are currently due to be in attendance (more likely to be added).
Paperback release of DEFENDER
Thursday 10th August, UK and Commonwealth
Have you been impatiently waiting to get your mitts on a lovely, smaller (lighter!) edition of DEFENDER? Well, wait no more! DEFENDER is being published on the 10th August, with added extra material in the back. Click here to order your copy now.
I also take part in some ThankBookFor interviews and podcasts with Tom. More details added as soon as they’re going live! We recently interviewed the wonderful Zen Cho, Adrian Tchaikovsky, Emma Newman and RJ Barker while at Edge-Lit Derby, so expect them soon.
Podcasts and events, all centred around stories and the people who tell them.
We have interviews with authors (Joanne Harris, Claire North, Beth Lewis, Mike Gayle, Helen Fitzgerald, Jen Williams, Peter Newman, Laura Lippman and many more), comedians (such as Sara Pascoe and Rachel Wheeley), industry folk in publishing, as well as a whole raft of others. Click here to explore.
ThankBookFor also had its own radio show on Wolverhamption Community Radio. There’s a playback feature, too, so you can listen to past episodes and don’t feel like you’ve missed out 😀
A podcast series hosted on board Walsall Mobile Library. We invited authors aboard for a lovely scenic drive and cozy chat. Listen to:
Polly Ho Yen – author of The Boy in the Tower and Where Monsters Lie (currently longlisted for the Carnegie Medal).
Kit de Waal – author of My Name is Leon (Penguin Viking).
John Connolly – author of the Charlie Parker series, one of my all-time favourite books The Book of Lost Things (Hodder & Stoughton), and two short story compilations.
